I left the background blank to make it easier to pitch. I’ll eventually put my own background in there, probably something along the lines of the Capitol building, and some D.C. cityscape.

Sketchbook Mobile
Here’s my first real sketch on my iPhone. This is the Sketchbook Mobile app put out by the same folks who make, you guessed it, Sketchbook Pro.
I’m not sure how long this took since I did it in pieces here and there, but it didn’t feel as if it took too long.

Character Design
Just playing around with some more cartoonish figures.
The bulk of my previously published work has been editorial cartooning, and although I’ve left that behind, I always wanted to bring a little more zip to the artwork itself than I was able to at that time. (Time constraints, and I was still naively reluctant to put the pens down and pick up a Wacom.)
I do have some ideas for cartooning, and though Scott Adams is the office-humor title holder, work place buffoonery is my schtick so maybe there’s room for one more. (I have years of management experience to draw on and used to regularly read Dilbert and think “Arrggh! That’s not a cartoon, that’s my life!”)
These characters have nothing to do with the cartoon idea, but I’ll post some of those next week perhaps.
